The International Psycho-Oncology Society (IPOS) fosters international multidisciplinary communication about clinical, educational and research issues that relate to the subspecialty of psycho-oncology and psychosocial dimensions of cancer including the response of patients, families and staff to cancer and its treatment at all stages; and the psychological, social and behavioral factors that influence tumor progression and survival.

Latin American/Spanish Special Interest Group (LASSIG): foster the science and practice of psycho-oncology in Spanish-speaking countries, in order to improve the care of cancer patients, and aide in the development of professional networks to exchange clinical and research-related knowledge as well as scientific material in Spanish.

Low and Medium Income Countries (LMIC) Special Interest Group: identify problem areas of LMIC in psycho-oncology compared with the western world where psycho-oncology has become relatively well developed.
