Babungo Integrated Mental Health Care carries out a variety of activities with the combination of traditional and modern approach in professional community and clinical health care. The staff of BIMEHC include qualified and dedicated staff such as a general manager, SR nurses, a midwife, laboratory technician, general practitioner, a psychiatrist, a herbal/pro pharmacy attendant, an administrator, an education project coordinator, a herbalist, support staff, hotel/catering staff and international volunteers. The staff is carry out the following activities:
- Providing mental health care (clinic and community based)
- Counseling, psychotherapy and conflict resolution
- Occupational therapy and sports
- Rehabilitation and reinsertion of psychiatric patients into their communities
- Referral system and contra referral
- Capacity building of the staff
- Workshops, sensitisation and education on human rights and advocacy, HIV&AIDS, mental and basic health, nutrition, traditional practices, hygiene etc.
- Support programmes for People Living With HIV&AIDS (PLWHA)
- Vocational training pool: crafts, tailoring, agriculture, piggery, poultry etc.
- Coordination of income generating activities for the underprivileged people
- Promotion of food security and sustainable agriculture through seed centre, processing and demonstration units (piggery, poultry and gardening)
- Enhancing the protection of the medicinal garden and the natural resources
