The Please Talk initiative is funded by the HSE National Office of Suicide Prevention and has two components.

• The first is the campaign’s message that ‘talking is a sign of strength’, which urges students to talk to someone if they’re having problems at home, at college or anywhere else.
• The second component of the campaign, the Please Talk website, www.pleasetalk.org, highlights the extensive supports available to students on campuses throughout Ireland, as well as other external information and services.

It also provides a safe space where young people can engage with our team of moderators and panel of experts on issues that really affect them – from drugs and alcohol to suicide and self-harm, from exam stress to bullying. The service encourages help-seeking and facilitates connections to face to face services and supports in a positive environment. ReachOut.com uses social media and new technologies to help prevent youth suicide and improve young people’s mental health and well-being.
