IFightDepression
iFightDepression is a website that aims to promote and increase awareness of depression and suicidal behaviour by providing comprehensive information about depression and its consequences. The webiste informs people about the causes, signs and symptoms of depression in order to recognise depression. I Fight Depression also provides helpful strategies for promoting positive mental health, including self-management resources, provides details of how and where to get help for depression, and how to support a family member, friend or person in need of assistance. The website also aims to provide information, tailored resources and recommendations to community professionals and healthcare professionals who can act as gatekeepers or advocates in recognising and responding to depression, in disseminating best-practice recommendations for individuals with depression and in facilitating their access to care.
The iFightDepression website and iFightDepression tool are brands and initiatives of the European Alliance Against Depression (EAAD) consortium. These resources were developed and implemented by the PREDI-NU (Preventing Depression and Improving Awareness through Networking in the EU) Consortium and supported and funded by the European Commission in the Framework of the Health Programme – Consumer, Health and Food Executive Agency (CHAFEA; formerly EAHC- European Agency for Health and Consumers).
