Icario Connect
Icario Connect

Icario Connect uses data science, behavioral research, multi-channel tools, and smart rewards and incentives to help you connect personally with your members. We know what they want, how they like to connect, and what moves them to take action.

  • Data & Insights: Icario Data Enrichment combines your member data with ours to turn lines on a spreadsheet into living, breathing people.
  • Behavioral Research: Icario's proprietary behavioral research and quantitative data advance your knowledge of members from clinical to deeply personal.
  • Multi-Channel Approach: Icario intelligently matches the right messages, channels, and outreach sequences to each individual to drive the right health actions.
  • Rewards & Incentives: leverage Icario's loyalty and member satisfaction know-how to drive positive behavior change and boost plan performance.
  • Real-Time Reporting & Optimization: Icario Connect continually optimizes channels, sequencing, incentives, and other levers to maximize your results.
  • Performance-Based Pricing: Icario is a health action company that delivers results. You don’t pay for promises. You only pay for outcomes.

In 2020, Revel + NovuHealth joined forces to create Icario because we knew we could do better together—creating value by uniting pioneering technology, data science, and behavioral insights to make the world a healthier place, one person at a time.  There is an island in the Aegean Sea where people live extremely long lives. They’re happy, too. Families are close. They eat well. They exercise. And they stay connected with each other, and not just by smartphone. This got us thinking. What if we apply what we learn from the Blue Zone island of Ikaria (our namesake), add pioneering technology and exabytes of data, and help healthcare connect better with everyone? We’ll have a lot more healthy, happy people, and that’s a pretty good thing. As an organization, we’re a collaborative team of pioneers, inventors, and systems thinkers. We speak truth, are driven by data, and sweat the details. We’re a friendly and easygoing group, but we work hard because we are mission-driven, we know a better way, and we’re here to make it happen.

Klaatch
Klaatch

Klaatch leverages human touch and technology to help older adult organizations determine their Social Quotient, build new initiatives for individual and community social connectivity, and propel organizational performance. The Social Quotient is an aggregate measure of an NLP-derived personality profile, validated loneliness surveys of older adults, and the level of engagement in programs and activities. The Klaatch Methodology uses four components to energize individual and community connectedness.

  • Inventory of Existing Programs & Initiatives: this is a discovery process involving management and staff. We review program offerings and determine their appropriateness for those at risk or high risk for loneliness.
  • Workshops & Training: in highly interactive workshops and training, Klaatch collaborates with your team, to understand the fundamentals of loneliness in your community, and customize the Social Quotient. As part of the Klaatch Methodology, front-line staff uses active listening and empathy to strengthen the connection with older adults and to integrate Klaatch tools into daily work routines.
  • Generating Baseline Social Quotient Scores: using the Klaatch Survey Tracking System, the interactive dashboard, and the user portal, the baseline Social Quotient scores are developed for each member/resident and for the community as a whole.
  • Customizing and Personalizing Social Connectivity Programs: based on the data and insights generated by the Social Quotient, we work with your team to enhance current offerings and build innovative social connectivity programming.

Klaatch begins with the love of a parent, a son for his father. It was a lifetime of family and laughter. After the death of my mother, I saw my father's fall from happiness into the shroud of grief... and then into anger. And from health into illness. I was witness to his slow descent into loneliness and social isolation. However I tried, I could not pull him back to us.

A small tribe of Klaatch workers on a mission began to unfold. We wrote a playbook to help guide our groups. We developed training for coaches and a network of support. We tested. We modified, tested again. We kept at it. We saw a light in older adults begin to shine again as they refreshed their ability to connect, and shed their Habits of Loneliness. And then we asked the question, how do we know if this is working? Are we effective? Data scientists joined our mission and provided a framework for discovery. We formed partnerships, we analyzed, and we found meaning. The sense of our discovery is thrilling.

Klaatch's Social Quotient finds measurable insight into changes in both individual and community connection over time. Our platform is the data foundation for informed innovation. We help organizations focused on older adults find where loneliness and social isolation are rooted. And then we help engage those who have not engaged, those who need to re-find friendships, those who can, once again, socially connect. Today, with the limitations imposed on older adults due to the worldwide pandemic, we could not have a more important mission.

MyHealthTeams
MyHealthTeams

MyHealthTeams create social networks for millions of people living with chronic conditions. MyHealthTeams believe that when people facing the same chronic condition are able to connect with and learn from each other, ask questions, get referrals, and share tips with other people who personally understand what it’s like to face that condition, health outcomes improve. You’re not alone, and you don’t have to reinvent the wheel. In a few years time, we believe that if you’re diagnosed with a chronic condition your doctor will prescribe one of our social networks. The evolving health care system is not set up to provide the day-to-day validation, perspective, and practical tips that patients can provide each other. A growing body of evidence shows that strong social patient-support networks lead to improved health outcomes.

MyHealthTeam are an independent, venture-capital-backed startup based in San Francisco, working on a mission we love. Their vision of providing safe, objective, patient-driven social networks began with the launch of MyAutismTeam – the largest and fastest-growing social network for parents of children with autism in the world. We followed with the launch of MyBCTeam for women with breast cancer, MyMSTeam for people with multiple sclerosis, MyCrohnsAndColitisTeam, and a growing list of social networks serving the nearly 1 in 2 adults facing a chronic condition. Today with millions of members, millions of conversations, and a presence in eight countries, MyHealthTeams has become the fastest growing and most engaging set of social networks for web and mobile apps in health care.

MyHealthTeams’ audience quality is consistently 4x better than endemic health websites and 9x better than programmatic display advertising, according to third-party firms such as Comscore, Symphony, and Crossix. Put your ad in front of diagnosed patients when and where they are most likely to take action. This results in more doctor visits and more informed treatment decisions. Advertising is tightly integrated alongside medically reviewed content. Learn more about our Medical Expert Panel. The world’s leading pharmaceutical companies rely on MyHealthTeams to connect with people facing chronic conditions when and where they are talking about their health.

Supportiv
Supportiv

Supportiv is a website that aims to connect peers going through the same life struggle has been proven as useful, and often more effective than therapy, in dozens of clinically-validated research studies. Supportiv is *better* than real-life peer support—easier to access, more precise, and quicker to help. It’s what we call Precision Peer Support. They’ve created a place where it’s safe to open up. Safe to be vulnerable. Where common bonds form easily over thoughts and feelings that are risky to share in real-life. Perhaps we all move a little closer to stronger human connections in real-life too, as it becomes less and less scary to be vulnerable. With Supportiv, you’re always just a few taps away from the best examples of human compassion.

  • Anonymous & Secure: conversations are completely confidential. Your identity is anonymous. You don't have to enter any personal information, ever.
  • Human-Centered: trained moderators guide 100% troll-free conversations and make spot-on recommendations to help you feel better.
  • Always There: users are connecting in our groups around the clock, which means support is available to you anytime.
  • Resource-Full: suggest articles, videos, podcasts, and services to help you get through the struggle.

Supportiv matches you, in less than one minute, with other people who are struggling with something similar so everyone can immediately relate. You can chat about any topic, and everyone is always anonymous. All chats are guided by a professionally trained moderator to ensure safety, remove trolls, and keep the conversation on track. As you chat, you’ll receive resources like articles, videos and podcasts that are hyper-relevant to coping with, problem solving, and healing from your struggle.

All it takes for us to do the matching is one phrase describing what you’d like to talk about. Everything else happens magically, using natural language processing. So far there have been over 9 million conversation data points used to train our proprietary language models. Our models are more accurate than the industry standard language processing libraries trained by Twitter and/or Wikipedia.

Supportiv removes all obstacles and fast-tracks you to feeling supported—no appointments, no forms, no questionnaires, no registration, not even any “quizzes”. All we need to hear is what’s going on that’s led you here, in your own words, and we take it from there. We do all the work for you: matching you with the right support network members, and to the right resources (articles, videos, podcasts, etc.) that can help you feel better. Here you can vent, unwind, de-stress, and feel supported… all without anyone knowing who you are!

The technology Supporiv has created to match peers who understand each other’s struggles, plus match relevant resources and services to needs, is highly sophisticated, unparalleled and, frankly, costly. They extensively train and pay our moderators so everyone gets a supportive, troll-free, uplifting experience. There are no annoying ads, which many sites use to generate revenue and keep the service “free.” Supportiv don’t sell any user data, which happens on most “free” sites.

Moderators

Supportiv moderators are psychology students (graduate and undergraduate) who’ve completed extensive training by Supportiv on peer support facilitation, crisis triage, and the use of special platform features.

AI-Driven Natural Language Processing

Supportiv's algorithm is inspired by DNA alignment algorithms from genetics. It measures correlation across textual documents using python data science libraries and the Natural Language Processing Toolkit. Our AI calculates a precise match, in milliseconds, analyzing a single phrase of free text to route each user to the best active peer support chat with other concurrent users who relate to their struggle. As the conversation flows, AI is at work again, selecting hyper-targeted resources from our knowledge base for our moderators to share with the group in real-time.

Machine Learning

With our rich and diverse data points, Supportiv has used neural networks to create a custom mental health corpus that doesn’t exist elsewhere, empowering us to match users into the right peer group with precision. Our training data goes beyond text; we use a variety of signals to actively learn and improve the process. Users rate our chats and moderators as they experience various peer support groups and provide qualitative feedback, creating layered learnings which continuously fine tune our models.

At TalkLife, we’re here for the moments when you just need a friend, no matter where they are. We’re here when you’re looking for someone who just understands you and what you’re going through (because someone always does). Sure, life is full of highs and lows. But it’s full of highs and lows for each and every one of us. So why do we always try to go it alone? At TalkLife, we’ve created a place where we can all work through life together. Because everything is better together. Everything. Peanut butter and jelly have proven this for like, at LEAST eight decades now.

So get on TalkLife and talk to people going through the exact same struggles you are – it’s peer support built around you. We know that sometimes it’s sort of hard to talk about certain things with family or even friends. This is a safe place where you can talk about anything: mental health, depression, self harm, eating disorders, a bad breakup or a relationship, school or work…it doesn’t matter. If you want to talk about it, someone else, does too. No judgments. No bullying. Just people who get you. Download TalkLife, the free online peer to peer support network today and make right now and everything after it a little bit better. Let’s talk and figure this life thing out together.

TalkLife was created in 2012 when Jamie Druitt, having gone through his own battles, noticed there were few places to open up about mental health. The years that followed saw TalkLife evolve from a community where people from around the world could come together to share about the ups and downs of life to a sophisticated, award-winning,  intelligent peer support platform spanning 125 countries and over 1.5 million users.

TalkLife Story

TalkLife exists as a company dedicated to providing a practical, user-focused and relevant service without clinical compromise. An organisation with impact at its core TalkLife is proud of it's impact framework, focus on efficacy and an unwavering pursuit of ensuring a mental health service that is available for anyone who needs it, without barriers to entry.

TalkLife has benefited from a team consisting of leading researchers from MIT, Harvard and Microsoft Research including Dr Eric Horvitz, Dr Karthik Dinakar and Professor Matthew Nock who built a world-first machine learning engine specific to mental health, suicide ideation and self-harm. This machine learning underpins the TalkLife platform enabling it to intelligently bring people together, safeguard in real-time at scale and launch personalised digital support interventions.

TalkLife, originally staffed by in Australia by designer Jacob White and Communications specialist Andrew Montessi is now headed up at it's UK HeadQuarters by CEO Druitt ,COO Jennifer Russell, a professional counsellor with a background in mental health research and suicide prevention and CFO Catherine Murphy who brings with her over a decade experience at KPMG. The team are supported by a further 22 global full-time staff across engineering, design, safeguarding and partnerships.

TalkLife offers a safe, supportive environment to open up about mental health and to get support, any time of the day or night wherever you are. With all the functionality of a social network combined with the clinical governance, safeguarding and escalation required to ensure a safe, impactful environment TalkLife is a place where people can feel comfortable to talk about how life really is for them and not to have to struggle alone.

TalkLife has not only grown a global community characterised by authenticity and support but has also created a volunteering programme supporting community members to develop their peer support skills, contribute to testing and building the community, contribute to moderation and benefit from ongoing training and support. TalkLife has attracted some of the leading minds across mental health onto it's advisory board who offer both clinical governance and a steer from decades of experience at the forefront of mental health provision and suicide prevention both online and offline.

As TalkLife has grown so has it's ambitions for supporting research and development into suicide and self-harming behaviours online. The past two years has seen the company develop a research collaboration programme joining forces with Universities to support projects progressing research questions into key knowledge gaps with a specific focus on practical application. This year has seen TalkLife launch it's cutting edge TalkCampus platform, designed specifically for students and currently live at campuses across the USA, UK and Australia

Research & Collaboration

TalkLife is committed to collaborating on world leading research projects working with teams and universities who can help us to understand and improve the lives of people who are struggling with mental illness.  Their researchers are working on key research questions across topics including machine learning, NLP modelling, online safety, peer support and online communication, self harming behaviour and suicidal ideation.

All TalkLife research collaborations are subject to approval by the institutional review board or relevant ethics committee. Collaborations are strictly limited to universities and research institutes with the aim of increasing understanding of and expansion of the mental health evidence base. We believe that utilising the latest and best science available can help us achieve this goal. Transparency and preserving the community culture within TalkLife is priority, with every effort made to avoid disrupting the experience of users.

All data contributed is completely de-identified and inline with TalkLife’s privacy policies. Users are requested to undergo additional consent to take part in any surveys offered in app. Different to mainstream social networks, TalkLife is a community dedicated to youth mental health conversations. It is a culture of “giving and getting” help, where experiences and learnings are shared, and new innovations are welcomed.

Much is still unknown about the intersection of nonsuicidal self injury and suicidal self injury behaviours and the internet. TalkLife is leading the way by combining world class research with practical application and service. TalkLife not only provides users with ways to help each other through daily peer support, but is also providing insights that have the potential to change lives for years to come.

Peer Support

Peer support is a well evidenced method of helping people who are struggling with their mental health. Here is a summary of some of the research exploring what makes this such an effective mechanism for support and how TalkLife measures impact. TalkLife are the leading global online peer to peer support network for youth mental health.

TalkLife is an online peer to peer support network designed to provide instant connection to like-minded people in a supportive and safe community. It facilitates the giving and receiving of support in a non-judgemental environment. Enabling users to share the ups and downs of life without fear of judgment and repercussion. We combine social networking with support to create a fun engaging place to share that also has a positive impact on mental health. The TalkLife team draws from a range of backgrounds across the psychology, research and technology fields, bound together by the same vision: To use innovative technology to create relevant, engaging support for people struggling with their mental health and to have a positive impact on the wellbeing of our users.

Does it Help?

TalkLife is based on the principles of peer support, the benefits of which are wide-ranging and well evidenced. Peer support can be an effective mechanism to support people with anxiety, depression, addiction and many other mental health issues. On TalkLife we promote the value of social connection, talking openly and exploring feelings. Our team of volunteers are trained in active listening and providing support online and are on hand to offer empathetic support, supported by our professional 24/7 safety team. However, we empower all users to both ask for and offer support within the community, to share experiences and build social capital. Participating in peer to peer support has been linked to

  • An increased ability to cope
  • A greater sense of wellbeing & resilience
  • Higher levels of self-esteem and confidence

Peer support is a system of giving and receiving help founded on key principles of respect, shared responsibility, and mutual agreement of what is helpful. Peer support is not based on psychiatric models and diagnostic criteria. It is about understanding another’s situation empathically through the shared experience of emotional and psychological pain. We regularly ask our users to consider the impact that using TalkLife has had on them across a range of assessment variables including feelings of loneliness, anxiety, depression, hopefulness and self-worth. This is what we found. Since using TalkLife:

  • 77% of our users find it easier to ask for help when they need it
  • 73% said their relationships with others have improved
  • 65% said they feel more positive about the future
  • 73% feel more understood by others
  • 68% feel more able to cope with life.

Wisdo
Wisdo

Wisdo is a safe and judgement-free community of people who help and support each other throughout their life’s journey. No matter what you are experiencing, on Wisdo, you will instantly find people who have been in your shoes and are excited to hear your story and share from their experience and wisdom. Wisdo works through the following process:

  • Pick a Community: whether it’s loneliness, anxiety, stress, chronic disease, caregiving, or self-growth, we have a community waiting to support you.
  • Build your Profile: define where you are and where you want to go. See how many people on Wisdo have similar life experiences and goals.
  • Form friendships and achieve your goals: start a conversation with Wisdo members or one of our life coaches who know what you are going through.

After just two weeks on Wisdo, users consistently report feeling less lonely and more supported by our judgment-free community, cared for by people who can relate, and successful in progressing towards their personal goals.

Using the power of online human connections as a force for good, Wisdo provides a meaningful alternative to mainstream social networks by connecting people to others who can truly get them since they’ve been in their shoes and are ready to offer non judgemental support and encouragement. Based on more than 100M interactions fostered by Wisdo we’ve developed AI that increases healthy days by 26% within 90 days of joining. Step in, it's real.

Unlike social media sites, Wisdo offers a safe and judgement-free community that people join to form meaningful and helpful connections. We don’t have a “Like” button, and we don’t rank people by how popular they are or how many vacation pictures they post. As we all learned, social media can often create an unhealthy cycle of judgment, competition, and uncontrolled bullying. Wisdo can’t be more different than that.

Other peer support platforms “drop” users into communities with many thousands of people, leaving it up to you to find users you can really relate to. Wisdo, on the other hand, uses its AI engine to continuously introduce you to people that you share many similar life experiences and goals with and who have been ranked as highly helpful by other members. This approach ensures that you quickly form connections with users who can say the magic words “I know how you’re feeling. I’ve been there”.

Wisdo enforce a strict code of conduct monitored and enforced by our community managers and backed up by our AI engine. We also comply with GDPR and HIPAA privacy and security protocols.  As a Wisdo member, you will also gain access to our certified life coaches and be able to join group or 1:1 sessions. We are currently adding an on-demand telehealth component to allow our users to connect with medical professionals, including therapists.

Wisdo is available to users as a subscription-based app. These funds allow us to continuously improve the product for our community and to keep Wisdo ad-free. We also partner with organizations that want to make Wisdo available as a tool to improve the mental and physical health of their members, employees, customers, constituents, or students.
