World Young Leaders in Dementia (WYLD)
World Young Leaders in Dementia (WYLD)

The World Young Leaders in Dementia (WYLD) is a network of passionate, young professionals working across disciplines and borders to develop innovative dementia solutions. The World Young Leaders in Dementia (WYLD)’s mission is to train, connect and facilitate careers of young professionals in the field of dementia globally. We provide a platform to empower young leaders to create a better world for those living with dementia, their families and their communities. They aim to create a better world for those living with dementia, their families and their communities by:

  • Bringing creative brainstorming, fresh perspectives, and novel solutions to the dementia field.
  • Contributing to new dementia strategies that incorporate the latest innovations in technology and research to meet the needs of a rapidly changing world.
  • Providing a platform for idea exchange and shared projects to enable a culture of collaboration among the next generation of leaders in dementia.

The World Young Leaders in Dementia (WYLD) are millennials from clinical, academic, care, advocacy and commercial backgrounds who have united to improve the lives of people with dementia across the globe. They do this by

  • Supporting the work of the World Dementia Council as an associate member, contributing one young leader to each of their five Global Teams. Find out more here.
  • Convening regular workshops alongside international dementia conferences to brainstorm dementia solutions across the spectrum of research, care and advocacy.
  • Working in partnership with existing dementia organisations to contribute novel perspectives and broaden the global reach of their projects.
  • Delivering commissioned projects that draw on our unique network of global connections and communication channels.
  • Developing a membership directory of emerging young leaders in dementia across the world to facilitate new collaborations, both within and outside of the network.
